The SHPE Series is engineered to accept a diverse assortment of winter ice-melting and traction media. Because every model comes standard with a heavy-duty, factory-installed 200 lb force industrial vibrator system, it actively breaks up material packing and prevents bridging down the poly walls. This allows you to smoothly run cost-effective materials, including:
Bulk Salt, Bagged Rock Salt, Premium Ice Melt, & 50/50 Salt/Sand Blends: Coarse bagged rock salt, calcium chloride crystals, bulk salt straight from a supply yard, and dense 50/50 sand and salt mixtures flow beautifully down into the 2-1/2" auger throat without packing up or clogging.
100% Pure Bulk Sand: Raw, unblended bulk sand absorbs atmospheric moisture rapidly, packs down with immense density, and is highly abrasive. Because there is no chain conveyor floor to pull this extreme dead weight, pure sand will bridge completely and jam the auger mechanism.
